PM856 3BSE018104R1将4个单独的5×7矩阵led视为4个字符数字。用户控制每个数字显示104个固定字符和24个用户自定义字符中的哪一个。如果需要,用户可以在通电后将自定义字符加载到24种用户自定义字体中。使用数字寄存器从128字符字体中选择一个字符来控制显示器。这种方法对于字符显示快速有效,但不适合图形显示。
对于使用MAX6952或PM856 3BSE018104R1的图形应用,控制技术则相反。固定字体被忽略,24种用户自定义字体用于直接图形显示控制。每个数字寄存器都被设置为指向不同的用户定义字体位置,并且字体本身被操纵以在5×7部分中调整图形显示。如果不需要闪烁控制,则只需要4个用户定义的字体位置,每个5×7部分一个(表1)。如果使用闪烁,需要8个用户定义的字体位置,每个5×7部分的每个闪烁阶段(P1和P0)一个位置(表2)。数字寄存器只需用适当的RAMxx字符地址写入一次,并且字体本身被操纵来设置图形图像。

PM856 3BSE018104R1 treats 4 individual 5×7 matrix LEDs as 4 character numbers. The user controls which of the 104 fixed characters and 24 user-defined characters to display for each number. If necessary, users can load custom characters into 24 user-defined fonts after power on. Use a number register to select a character from a 128 character font to control the display. This method is fast and effective for character display, but not suitable for graphic display.

For graphic applications using MAX6952 or PM856 3BSE018104R1, the control technology is the opposite. Fixed fonts are ignored, and 24 user-defined fonts are used for direct graphic display control. Each digital register is set to point to a different user-defined font position, and the font itself is manipulated to adjust the graphic display in the 5 * 7 section. If flicker control is not required, only 4 user-defined font positions are needed, one for each 5 * 7 section (Table 1). If using flicker, 8 user-defined font positions are required, with one position for each flicker stage (P1 and P0) in each 5×7 section (Table 2). The number register only needs to be written once with the appropriate RAMxx character address, and the font itself is manipulated to set the graphic image.
