The expansion board is physically connected to the Raspberry Pi using flat ribbon cables, while the PM645B allows voltage (+3.3V), grounding, and I/O control signals to be electrically connected to the Raspberry Pi 40 pin connector. Flat cables allow for easy placement of solderless test plates on workbenches or laboratory workstations.

The wiring components of the test board below show the electrical components connected to the expansion board. If the extension distribution board is not available, you can use a jumper to directly connect to+3.3V, GND, pin 11 (GPIO17), and pin 16 (GPIO23), right under the title of Pi.

The Hello World ladder diagram (ld) displayed in PM645B and the Arduino OpenPLC introduction project can be easily modified to Raspberry Pi controller. The main modifications of LD include applying the SBC physical I/O addressing scheme to Raspberry Pi. The I/O address reflects the main pin format, not the GPIO name. Through this method, the assigned labels will ensure that the input and output control signals of the target button switch, as well as the LED circuit, are correctly activated.

The final step of the Raspberry Pi OpenPLC project is to upload the runtime software to SBC. As discussed in the runtime section, it is necessary to access the web server page. By using a web browser to point to the IP address of Raspberry Pi, the runtime programming environment will become available.
